Methadone/Suboxone Treatment – Refferals

If you've been using opiod drugs such as heroin, morphine, codeine, Oxycontin, and Percocet to such an extent that the use of the drug(s) keep you away from the people and things that matter to you most – then you are dependent on opiods and are ready for Methadone Maintenance Therapy (MMT) or Buprenorphine (Suboxone) Treatment.   

 

Methadone is a long-acting opiod drug that fills-up the same receptors in your brain as other opiods and your own endorphins. It can prevent the onset of withdrawal for 24-36 hours.  Once on a stable dose, you should feel "normal". Treatment with methadone should be viewed in a similar manner as a diabetic with unstable sugars who requires long-term prescribed medicine to prevent complications from the disease.  Methadone maintenance is a commitment and takes a few months for the full benefits to be realized. Our physician will take a detailed history and physical exam in order to determine the proper treatment for you. Once stable, a client may want to wean-off the drug with the help of his physician.  We also have a certified counsellor available to help you with this difficult time.
